Director of Advancement
Full-Time, Exempt | Fayetteville, Arkansas | $65,000 Annual Salary
The Opportunity
Mount Sequoyah is seeking an Advancement Director to lead our development, volunteer engagement, and communications efforts. This is a director-level role for an experienced nonprofit professional who wants ownership over how we build relationships with donors, funders, volunteers, and the broader community. You'll write and manage grants, cultivate donor and major-gift relationships, grow our volunteer program, and guide our marketing contractors and communications interns to keep Mount Sequoyah's story front and center.
What You'll Do
Lead our grant-writing program with foundations, corporations, and government funders, including proposal writing and grant reporting.
Manage donor relations through personalized stewardship, and build a major giving pipeline in partnership with our Executive Director and Board.
Own our volunteer program, from recruitment and onboarding to recognition and retention.
Coordinate with Marketing contractors on our communications, including our website, social media, and print materials, while supervising social media and website interns.
Help shape our annual development plan and campaigns, including our year-end giving campaign.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in nonprofit development, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
A track record in grant writing, donor relations, and fundraising, with results to show for it.
Strong written and verbal communication skills that comes through in both grant proposals and everyday conversations.
Experience managing volunteers, contractors, or interns.
A collaborative, mission-driven mindset with excitement to build something and represent Mount Sequoyah in the community.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package for a role of this scope, including:

A salary of $65,000 annually, commensurate with a director-level role, with 100% employer-paid health coverage, which equates to a significant post-tax benefit.
