Community Pool, Nonprofit Mission

Our pool has been a Fayetteville summer tradition for decades, open to members and the public for swim lessons, lap swim, and family time. As with everything on the mountain, pool memberships and lesson fees help sustain Mount Sequoyah's broader work, from historic preservation to our artist and camper scholarships.

Youth Marlins Swim

Our Youth Marlins program offers swim instruction for kids at every level, from first-time swimmers to competitive lap swimmers, taught by our coaching staff at the Mount Sequoyah pool.

Program Options

Private Lessons

One-on-one instruction available most days of the week, mornings, evenings, and some weekends.

Introduction to Marlins

For swimmers ages 5 and up who are comfortable putting their faces in the water and getting their feet off the bottom, but aren’t yet ready for lap swimming. A great first step toward joining the full Marlins program.

Traditional Marlins Lap Swimming

Freestyle endurance and skill-building across all four strokes, grouped by age, with one or two practice days per week available.

Skills Labs

Focused, small-group sessions honing a single skill — breaststroke, butterfly, or turns — for swimmers 7 and up with prior Marlins experience.

Sessions run seasonally throughout the year, with registration opening a few weeks before each new session. For current session dates, pricing, and to register, contact our pool office at (479) 443-4531.

Adult Marlins Swim

Mount Sequoyah offers swim programming for adults of every level, from those just building water confidence to experienced lap swimmers looking for a coached workout.

Program Options

Coached Lap Swimming

Classes of approximately 3–5 swimmers per lane. Participants should be comfortable swimming 25 yards and have a basic familiarity with all four strokes. Workouts range from 1,000–3,000 yards per session.

Lap Swimming Basics

For adults who are comfortable in the water and can swim, but want to build confidence with lap swimming before joining coached workouts. Focuses on freestyle breathing and technique, backstroke, and an introduction to breaststroke and butterfly.

Adult Learn to Swim (Kick Start)

A supportive starting point for adults who are nervous in the water or have little to no swimming experience. Focuses on floating, kicking, arm movements, and breathing, working toward swimming across the pool on the front and back.

Membership & Pricing

Coached sessions run four weeks and are $80 per swimmer, which includes access to Adult Open Swim hours during the session in addition to coached practice time. A non-refundable $25 deposit per person is due at registration. Occasional a la carte Skills Lab classes are also offered for $10 each.

What to Bring

We recommend men wear suits without pockets or a jammer-style suit, and women wear one-piece exercise suits. Goggles are mandatory — mirrored lenses are recommended for daylight swimming. Fins, pull buoys, hand paddles, and kickboards are provided in a range of sizes.

Registration opens seasonally each year. For current session dates, pricing, and to register, contact us at programs@mountsequoyah.org or (479) 443-4531.
