Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 31, 2026

Mount Sequoyah ("Mount Sequoyah," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website, mountsequoyah.org (the "Site"), make a donation, book a stay, register for an event, or otherwise interact with us.

By using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly, such as when you make a donation, book a stay or event, sign up for a newsletter, submit a contact form, or otherwise communicate with us:

  • Name, email address, phone number, and mailing address

  • Payment and billing information (processed by our third-party payment providers — see Section 3; we do not store full payment card numbers)

  • Reservation or event details

  • Any other information you choose to include in a message, form, or registration

Information collected automatically when you visit the Site:

  • IP address, browser type, device information, and operating system

  • Pages visited, time spent on the Site, referring/exit pages, and click activity

  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Sections 4–5)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process donations, bookings, reservations, and event registrations

  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support

  • Send confirmations, receipts, and administrative communications

  • Send newsletters or promotional communications (only where you have opted in, and you may unsubscribe at any time)

  • Maintain accurate donor and guest records

  • Improve the Site, our programs, and our services

  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations (including those applicable to our status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization)

  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security, or technical issues

3. Third-Party Services We Use

We work with the following third-party services to operate the Site and our programs. When you interact with these services (for example, by making a donation or booking a stay), your information is also subject to that provider's own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.

  • innRoad — used to power lodging and room reservation bookings. Reservation, contact, and payment information you submit through our booking pages is processed by innRoad.

  • Neon One / NeonCRM — used to process donations and manage donor and constituent records. Donation, contact, and payment information you submit through our donation forms is processed by Neon One.

  • Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn — we maintain profiles on these platforms and may include links or embedded content connecting to them from our Site. If you click through to or interact with these platforms, your activity is governed by that platform's own privacy policy and terms, not this one. We do not control how these third parties collect or use your information.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Remarketing

We use Google Analytics and, as part of our Google Ad Grants nonprofit advertising account, Google Ads to understand how visitors use the Site and to measure the performance of our online outreach.

  • Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time on Site, referring pages, and general location and device information, using cookies and similar technologies. This information is aggregated and does not directly identify you by name.

  • Google Ads conversion tracking helps us understand when a Site visit leads to an action we care about, such as a completed donation or booking, so we can measure and improve the effectiveness of our nonprofit advertising.

  • Remarketing/retargeting — if enabled, this allows previously visited pages on the Site to inform ads shown to you later on other websites through Google's advertising network. We do not use remarketing to advertise to visitors under 18 or on content directed at children.

Google may use the data collected through these tools in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at Google's "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services".

Your choices: You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can control the ads you see, including opting out of Google Ads personalization and remarketing, at Google Ads Settings or through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the Site, and improve functionality. This may include the analytics and advertising tools described in Section 4 (Squarespace's built-in analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads) and, if enabled, social media tracking pixels associated with the platforms listed in Section 3.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

  • With the third-party service providers listed in Section 3, solely to carry out the services you request (bookings, donations)

  • With vendors and contractors who help us operate the Site and our programs, under confidentiality obligations

  • If required by law, subpoena, or other legal process

  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Mount Sequoyah, our guests, staff, or others

  • In connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of our operations (if applicable)

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site. Where a parent or guardian registers a minor for a program such as camp, we collect the information necessary for that registration directly from the parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us using the information in Section 11 and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

9. Your Choices

  • Marketing communications: You may opt out of promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in those emails or by contacting us directly.

  • Analytics and advertising: See Section 4 for how to opt out of Google Analytics and Google Ads personalization/remarketing.

  • Donor and guest records: To request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, contact us using the information below. We will respond as required by applicable law.

10. Links to Other Websites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including innRoad, Neon One, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
